Connections Registry

Name: Tara Gingrich

Types of Services: Psychotherapy, Trauma counseling,

Modes of Therapy: Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy, and Mindfulness,

Locations: 30 Isabella Street, 2005 Danforth Avenue

About Me: As a therapist who has been working with young adults, adolescents (age 13 +), and families for over a decade, I have experience working with young people through various life transitions and the potential emotional challenges that go along with them. This includes anxiety, depression, stress, mood changes, grief and loss, self-esteem, isolation, relationships, identity and trauma. I believe in the power of the therapeutic relationship to heal, transform and nurture growth. Through this connection I encourage you to form a holistic understanding of yourself within the world, supporting you in gaining a greater sense of control over your life. Using modalities such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy and Mindfulness, I will guide you to increase emotional awareness, build coping strategies and achieve your potential.

Name: Alejandra Lindan

Types of Services: Talk Therapy, Anger Management, Behavioural Therapy,

Modes of Therapy: Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Mindfulness-based CBT,

Locations: Woodbine Station (Tuesdays), Coxwell/Gerrard (Wednesdays and Saturdays).

About Me: I’m Alejandra, and I go by she/her. My work is about helping people to compassionately accept their reality, just as it is—
crises, losses, oppressions and all. The wonderful
contradiction here is that this acceptance can then help to
change that very same reality into something you experience
as more and more safe, sustainable and fulfilling. Together we
can learn to surf the waves, slow the pulse and find the
missing links that can help you to both love your reality and
shape it.

In terms of my lived experience, I’m a cis queer white Latinx
adoptee, and I live with a mental health disability. I’m
committed to anti-racism, trans allyship, neurodiversity and
anti-poverty.

Some of my youth clients have told me that I’ve got their back,
that I hear them and that I’m a bit of a weirdo (compliment, I
swear). Clients of all ages have told me they appreciate my
ability to “be there” with them in the dark places. I think this
might be something about how I hold the contradiction of
lament versus radical acceptance: It’s been so important for
me to embrace these “both at once” in my work, communities
and in my personal history.
