About Me:
Emotional struggles mark us all as human. My training and orientation is a treatment approach that honours your unique sense of self. In the context of a helpful therapeutic relationship, you and I will try to make sense of difficult feelings and troublesome relationships. I draw from numerous effective treatment approaches to support you in your path towards healing and recovery. I have worked in the field of mental health for over ten years. I offer assessment, treatment planning, and individual art therapy and psychotherapy for children, adolescents, and adults experiencing a broad range of mental health, behavioural, emotional, social, developmental, and psychological difficulties. I have specialized training in children's mental health and trauma-informed practices. I also help parents sort out the challenges of parenting. I am a Registered Psychotherapist, Art Therapist, and Canadian Certified Counsellor. Upon completion of my graduate studies at Concordia University, I embarked on further training and completed a specialization in child and adolescent psychotherapy at the Canadian Institute for Child and Adolescent Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy. Over my career, I have practiced with individuals and families of all ages in child welfare, schools, trauma centres, addiction rehabilitation centres, correctional facilities, and private practice. Alongside my colleagues at The Arterie, I co-design and co-facilitate experiential workshops for staff in a variety of corporate, community, and healthcare settings with a focus on creativity, well-being and self-care. I'm also a faculty member at the Toronto Art Therapy Institute (TATI), where I teach budding art therapists about theory and process.
